Dads & Daughters on DivorceWhen it comes to the fallout of divorce or separation, Dads & Daughters® knows its limits. We have no legal expertise and thus can’t offer any advice on custody, child support and the makeup of family court systems. However, we DO offer invaluable resources for dads who don’t live full-time with their daughters—men we call “Live-Away Dads.” Thousands of dads use these resources to strengthen father-daughter relationships, even if they live away from their kids due to divorce, separation, deployment or other circumstances. We think the most important responsibility we have as fathers is to keep and strengthen our relationships with our children – anything we are doing that gets in the way of that goal is something we should probably stop doing, whether we live with our kids or not. We strongly recommend an outstanding, practical and constructive book called Live-Away Dads: Staying Part of your Children’s Lives when they aren’t a Part of Your Home. It’s by William C. Klatte, a divorced dad and social worker who has worked in the family court system and runs men’s groups. We also encourage you to read “A Few More Minutes with Your Child" |
